HEADACHES
Headaches can be caused by a multitude of factors. It is important to consult your doctor to diagnose the headache type and its causes. For many people, headaches are short lived and commonly relieved with rest, while for some they can become chronic, severe and debilitating.
The majority of headaches are caused by muscle and joint stiffness in the neck causing compression of nerves, blood vessels and lymphatic channels. A restriction of fluid circulation prevents enough oxygen from reaching the brain, as well as trapping waste products inside. This builds pressure and limits proper nutrition of the brain. Osteopathy's gentle techniques can restore the muscle balance and circulation needed to maintain normal pressure, allowing the unimpeded flow of oxygen and nutrients into and flow of toxins out of the brain.
